Ottawa Senators fans can breathe easy - the team captain appears just about ready to make his return to NHL action.
Clearly it isn't 100% certain that Erik Karlsson makes his season debut on Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings, but it is likely. Even if he doesn't end up getting the green light from the team doctors this weekend, his return is imminent.
There were concerns that his recovery from off-season surgery could drag on through October but he appears poised to make his return in short order.
