For weeks now we have been hearing a great deal about the devastation Hurricanes have been causing across the United States, and now it has had a direct impact on two National Hockey League franchises.

A report from David Pagnotta of the Fourth Period has revealed that now both the Florida Panthers and the Tampa Bay Lightning have chattered flights for their players due to the very serious threat posed by Hurricane Irma.

You know things are serious indeed when two NHL franchises feel the need to evacuate their players to safety, especially given the resources NHL teams have access to in the area.

Of course there are people in the path of Irma who will not be so fortunate, and our thoughts are with them at this time.
