Breaking: It looks like it's over for Iginla

We’re almost half way through the 2017-18 season, and Jarome Iginla is still without a team. While many might have thought the 40-year-old veteran was getting ready to take part in Spengler Cup, NHL insider Darren Dreger revealed today that it is not the case, and could have a huge impact on a potential Olympics participation.

A few weeks ago, Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos mentioned that the veteran winger isn’t ready to call it quits just yet. But it surely doesn't look good for Iginla.

The future Hall of Famer recently had minor hip surgery, and it looks like it's causing more problems than first expected.

Iginla has 20 seasons worth of experience, 16 of which were spent with the Calgary Flames. He wore the uniforms of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston Bruins, Colorado Avalanche and Los Angeles Kings

In 1,554 career NHL regular season games, Iginla registered 625 goals and 675 assists for 1,300 points.

Iginla might still be hoping a club will need a veteran experience on its roster. If not, what else is there for the great player?
