Three years ago, James Wisnieski notched 51 (7-44--51) points in 75 games with the Columbus Blue Jackets. A power-play specialist and a good puck-moving defenceman, He signed a PTO with the Tampa Bay Lightning but was soon after released by the organization. Wisnieski finally headed to Russia following a tough free-agent market.
James played only 16 games for the Vladivostok Admiral before heading back to his mother country, the United-States, where he signed a standard contract with the Chicago Wolves (St-Louis Blues farm team).
"“We are excited to have James as part of the Wolves organization,” said Wolves general manager Wendell Young in a release. “He brings a wealth of experience and skill to our team. He will be a great enhancement for an already outstanding group.”
The Blues are bringing a right-handed puck-moving defenceman close to the trade deadline, maybe as a back-up plan for Kevin Shattenkirk. This move by the Blues won't silence these rumors!
