It's not an official report but it appears that the race from Jimmy Vesey is down to just two.

According to a report from National Hockey League analyst Neil Smith there are only two finalists remaining, and both of them are American original six teams. Smith is reporting that the two teams who remain candidates are the New York Rangers and the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Blackhawks have been considered front runners since day one, so seeing them on this list is no surprise and the acquisition of Vesey would be just another incredible move in a series of incredible moves from general manager Stan Bowman.

The Rangers however are more of a surprise, the cap strapped team has been viewed by many as a team that will need some serious retooling after a series of trades over the past few seasons has depleted their prospect pool.

A decision is expected Saturday, although it could come as early as today.
