Breaking: Joffrey Lupul releases an official statement.
Lupul statement after major controversy in Toronto.
HockeyFeed
There has been a major controversy in Toronto over the past few days surrounding injured Maple Leafs' player Joffrey Lupul, but that controversy may be over.
Lupul initially came out and suggested that the Maple Leafs were "cheating" on their medical tests to keep him off the ice, but he quickly retracted those statements and now has issued a public apology.
Here is his statement in full and unedited:
I responded earlier this week to some negative comments on Instagram. It was an inappropriate response, and I deleted it, but I take full responsibility. It's been extremely tough not being able to play over the past 1.5 years. I will not be seeking a second opinion, but I hope one day to be able to get back on the ice. I apologize to the media, fans, Leafs organization, and most of all my teammates for this unneeded distraction.
