We have a very surprising decision to announce.

All week there were some big rumors suggesting that 25-year-old Philadelphia Flyers center Jordan Weal was meeting with a number of Canadian teams, leading to a belief that his time was in Philadelphia was done, but once again general manager Ron Hextall has worked some magic.

According to a breaking news report from TSN insider Darren Dreger the Flyers have convinced Weal to forgo free agency, and instead have re-signed him to a brand new contract, the details of which are unknown at this time.

There have been rumors that it is a two-year deal, however we are awaiting more specific confirmation before calling that official.

Update: Dreger now reports the deal pays weal $1.25 million per season over the two-year deal, however there is a $1 million signing bonus in addition to that salary making his average annual value $1.75 million.
