The Montreal Canadiens have placed one of their insurance options on the waiver wire.

In the summer of 2016 the Canadiens signed joruneyman defenseman Zach Redmond to a new deal with most believing that the deal was designed to provide with Habs with a serviceable player to call upon from the American Hockey League should the need arise.

As it turns out the Habs did need Redmond this season and he has appeared in 16 games for the club after being called and has put up respectable numbers earning himself 5 assists and a plus minus rating of +6 during that stretch.

Now according to RDS GO Redmond has been placed on waivers, and it will be interesting to see if he is claimed by any opposing franchises.
