Breaking: KHL may pull its players out of Olympic Games

We already know that nobody from the National Hockey League is going to represent their country in the 2018 Winter Olympics next February in Pyeongchang, South Korea. But now, as we reported yesterday, it looks like another scandal involving Russia appears to be brewing. 

This country was looking like one of the favourites to become champions, with many players from the Kontinental Hockey League representing their respective countries. But it seems they might not even be allowed to participate. As CBC reported, the KHL could very well pull out out of Olympics over Russia doping cases:

"In a statement, KHL President Dmitry Chernyshenko said the International Olympic Committee "is destroying the existing world order in sports" by pursuing doping cases against Russians in other sports who are suspected of using banned substances around the time of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi."

Is this really going to happen? TSN's Darren Dreger said this whole thing doesn't look good, even though all the different hockey federations have no idea what is going on:

KHL insider Aivis Kalnins said that no matter the nationality of the player, nobody from the KHL is going to play in the next Winter Olympics: 

With less than a hundred days before the start of the Olympics, we'll simply have to wait and see what happens over the next few weeks...
