A familiar face is returning to the National Hockey League.
A breaking news report from the St. Louis Blues organization has confirmed the rumors that have been floating around for the past few days and Vladimir Sobotka is in fact leaving the Kontinental Hockey League.
The former Blues center bolted for the KHL after a contract dispute with the organization and has spent his last three seasons with Omsk Avangard of the KHL. Due to his status on the Blues reserved list, he will now be eligible to immediately join the roster for both the regular season as well as the playoffs.
Sobotka has been one of the more frustrating topics for the Blues fan base in recent years and this announcement will likely be extremely well received in that market.
