It sounds like Las Vegas may have settled on it's new name.
Rumors surfaced earlier this week suggesting that the Las Vegas franchise and owner Bill Foley were looking at three different variations of "hawks" and now comments from Foley may have narrowed that rumored list down to just one.
Comments from Foley recently reported by Steve Carp of the Las Vegas Review-Journal appear to indicate the new name of the team, and while Foley doesn't come right out and say it's a done deal, he comes very close.
“Nighthawks is still a name we’re considering, though we are probably not going to go with the others (Red Hawks and Desert Hawks).”
It's not official yet, but it sounds like the Las Vegas Nighthawks will be the newest franchise in the National Hockey League.
