The Toronto Maple Leafs  are set to sign forward Nicolas Petan to a two-year deal, according to Sportsnet’s Irfaan Gaffar

The 23-year-olf forward was acquired by Toronto at the 2019 trade deadline in exchange for depth forward Par Lindholm.

In the three games he played as of now with the Maple Leafs, Petan has one goal, after putting up two assists through 13 games at the NHL level with Winnipeg this season.

He’s playing out a one-year deal carrying a cap hit of $874,125.

Petan, who was selected by the Jets in the second-round, 43rd overall, of the 2013 NHL Draft, has played in 111 career NHL regular-season games, to date, with the Leafs and Jets.
