**LATEST UPDATE AT THE BOTTOM **

There has been little ifntomation give out on why the Toronto Maple Leafs have pulled forward Nazem Kadri out of the lineup during the second period of tonight's game against the St. Louis Blues.

The only details that were made public by the Maple Leafs is that Kadri has been pulled and will remain out of the remainder of the game for precautionary reasons.

It did not mention if he was injured, but it sure sounds like it's the team that decided to pull him out - whether he wanted to or not...

The Leafs veteran forward did receive quite a heavy hit during the first period of the game by Vince Dunn. It was an open ice hit and Kadri did fall hard on the ice, but he however got up right away. We are unaware if a spotter demanded for the Leafs to pull him out and have him undergone the concussion protocol.

Of course, fans were quick to ask questions on social media, wondering if the Maple Leafs had just pulled a trade that involved Kadri.

If ever we forget about all the trade chatter, which hasn't really include Kadri in Toronto, the Leafs would hate to lose him ahead of a potentially long playoff run... In 59 games so far this season, Kadri has 15 goals and 20 assists.

Several key players have been out of action on Tuesday night: the one that got all the fans talking was Russian sniper Artemi Panarin who is not playing tonight for the Columbus Blue Jackets. He is out with quite the brutal stomach flu, according to head coach John Tortorella.

Edmonton Oilers' captain Connor McDavid is also missing tonight's action against the Arizona Coyotes because of the flu.

The Ottawa Senators have also decided to nix Matt Duchene from their lineup ahead of the trade deadline. TSN's Darren Dreger reported tonight that Duchene has played his last game as a member of the Senators, seeing that he will be pulled out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the New Jersey Devils to prevent any injury. If Duchene were to get hurt, the Senators would have to forget about moving him for a big price.

We are keeping you posted!

UPDATE: According to the Fourth Period's David Pagnotta, the Leafs have announced that Kadri did indeed suffer a concussion... Yikes.
