National Hockey League veteran Brooks Laich hasn't signed any deals yet this summer, but he is now expected to get a shot with a new team on a professional tryout offer.

The long-time Washington Capitals forward most recently played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, however a large part of his season was spent in the American Hockey League and there were rumblings that Laich wasn't thrilled with that designation.

Now according to a report from Los Angeles Kings' insider Jon Rosen, Laich skated at the Kings' informal workout on Wednesday and furthermore Laich is expected to officially join the Kings in training camp on a PTO.

Laich has reportedly attended several conditioning skates set up by the Kings prior to training camp, and it appears that what he has shown thus far has earned him his tryout offer.

Of course he could be released at any time, but we will be bringing you updates as Laich moves through training camp.
