Breaking: Loui Eriksson has officially left Boston, signs with a new team.
Keystone Press.

This one doesn't come as much of a surprise.

Despite the fact that the Boston bruins maintained their optimism regarding their negotiations with veteran forward Loui Eriksson, he has made the decision to exercise his right as a free agent, and has signed a new deal in a new market.

According to a report from J.D. Burke of Canucks Army, the Vancouver Canucks have snatched Eriksson away from Boston, by offering him the deal he was reportedly looking for from the Bruins in the first place, a 6 year deal with an average annual value of $6 million.

It's a big commitment from the Canucks, especially for an aging veteran like Eriksson, but he is coming off a very good season, and if he continues that performance the Canucks will be very happy.

This news has of course been overshadowed by the big signing of the day, forward Milan Lucic.
