Th;e Montreal Canadiens have lost their star defenseman P.K. Subban to injury for the first time in his National Hockey League career, but despite how bad the injury looked initially it appears that Subban may soon be back out on the ice with the Habs.
According to a report from TSN's John Wu head coach Michel Therrien has stated that he is hopeful Subban will return to the Montreal line up this week. Therrien did state that Subban would not play tonight when the Canadiens take on a surging Anaheim Ducks squad, but he does remain hopeful that Subban could be back as early as Thursday when the Canadiens face off against the Detroit Red wings.
Subban went down earlier this month, and he stayed down, after an awkward collision with a teammate appeared to jam his neck, and the injury was serious enough to warrant Subban leaving the ice on a stretcher.
