“There’s been some excellent progress,” Quenneville said. “It could be good news. We’ll see.”.Obviously the only good news he could be refering to is an early return, Quenneville went on to elaborate on just how well Kane was doing both in terms of his recovery and how much he's been able to do on the ice since he resumed skating.
“You watch him today, he does everything you’d want him to do, or that he wants to do,” Quenneville said. “So I guess now we’ll just listen [for him to be] medically cleared. I would feel he’d be ready to go soon as he gets clearance. That’s what we’re waiting for.”Kane was originally expected ot be out for a minimum of 12 weeks, something that would have kept him out until the second round of the playoffs. However if Quenneville is right to be optimistic he could very well play in the first round of the post season.
