It didn’t take long for both fans and the broadcast team to notice that something was seriously wrong with Methot, immediately after he removed his glove the gruesome result of Crosby’s slash was revealed. It looked like the tip of Methot’s finger had nearly been completely severed off, and the detached piece was left hanging to the side.

Since then, Sidney Crosby has not been suspended for his slash on Methot’s hand and every single sports media gave their opinion on the incident. Fact is, Crosby reached out to Methot to apologies for what he did.

Methot says to Bruce Garrioch that Crosby reached out to him a week after the incident. Isn’t sure if he has long-term damage.


He also said he hopes to play in Game 1. Isn’t 100% sure he will yet. Feels good. Wants to return.
