Second incident in a week. Could be bad.
The Boston Bruins evaded a scare earlier this week when Brad Marchand missed a team practice after seemingly injuring his knee.
He ended up okay, and was dressed for the team's next game against the Washington Capitals on Saturday night. He took a low hit from John Carlson during that game, and looks to be dealing with the after-effects.
Here was Marchand's reaction following the hit.
And here's the news this morning.
Marchand leads the team in scoring with 14 points in 12 games - he's established himself as an elite point producer in the NHL, and his loss is most unwelcome at a time when the Bruins are dealing with multiple injuries to key players, including David Krejci.
Here are the lines ahead of game night without Marchand.
