Breaking: Massive upheaval in Canucks management stemming from owner Aquilini

First Trevor Linden and now this! Where’s the stability in Vancouver!?

According to a report from NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the Vancouver Canucks are replacing chief operating officer Jeff Stipec.

Trent Carrol, the team’s former chief revenue officer will take over as the team’s new chief executive officer.

Most surprising though is the news that longtime Canucks executive TC Carling has also left the organization.

Suffice it to say, this is a MASSIVE shakeup of the Canucks front office. Combine this with Trevor Linden’s resignation from his position as president of the team this past offseason and that’s now three of the team’s top brass now gone.

General manager Jim Benning remains, as does his right hand man John Weisbrod. But with the team currently riding a six game losing skid, it remains to be seen how things play out for the pair. Canucks owner Francesco Aquilini is a notoriously tough man to please and it’s been speculation before that the Canucks super fan turned team owner has meddled in the team’s on-ice plans in the past. At this point, no move from Canucks brass would surprise fans.

Stay tuned, Canucks fans. Things could get interesting the rest of the way.
