It's a sad day in the National Hockey League, especially for the Dallas Stars organization.

A young woman who worked for the Stars, Promise Hamilton, and her boyfriend Luis Solano were killed when a drunk driver ran a red light, striking their vehicle, and sent them crashing into a pole.

Both Promise and Luis were tragically killed at the scene, both of them who had so much life left to live, meanwhile the person who actually caused their deaths survived the crash.

The Stars released the following statement:

[pub]

Early Sunday morning, we lost a dear member of the Dallas Stars family. Promise Hamilton was an extremely talented, kind, beautiful, wonderful person. She enriched the lives of everyone she met. If you follow this team, you have no doubt shared our admiration for Promise, every time you see her talented graphic design work come across your social media feed, on our website, or in our advertising.

We miss Promise greatly already, and our thoughts, prayers and support are with her family and the family of Luis Solano in this extremely difficult time.

According to a report from CW 33 the driver is now facing charges of intoxication manslaughter, and we sincerely hope he is hit with the full force of the legal system.
