After not seeing any time in the third period of Saturday night’s matchup with Denmark, Montreal Canadiens defenseman Victor Mete was seen limping after the game.
On Monday, he was not taking part in Team Canada’s practice ahead of their quarter-final meeting with Switzerland on Tuesday - and then, the worst was confirmed.
Original reports stated that Mete would not miss the QF game, but now, things have changed ahead of the matchup.
Coach Dominque Ducharme pointed out that Mete, who has been one of the key members for Canada’s defense, had been injured in the outdoor game against the United States.
We are hoping Mete will soon return to the lineup if Canada moves on, as they are expected to do.
