Mike Babcock had HARSH comments on Auston Matthews following Leafs elimination
Toronto Maple Leafs rookie sensation Auston Matthews has broken the ice in the postseason by showing a great leadership as it was his first Stanley Cup Playoffs.
It’s locker clean-up day in Toronto and Auston Matthews’ name is in the middle of many conversations. HF already reported Matthews declined the invitation from team USA to take some rest and enjoy life with his family.
Asked on how he saw Auston Matthews throughout his first year in the NHL, Babcock answered in one unexpected way.
“He needs to get better and he knows it.” Said Babcock. It’s quite surprising as Matthews scored 40 goals and registered 29 assists for a total of 69 points in 82 regular-season matchups.
On the other side, if he’s expected to be better, he’ll be one heck of a hockey player!
