Breaking: Mike Babcock hints at potential offseason move from the Leafs.

The Maple Leafs exceeded all expectations this season and appeared to jump start their rebuild with an infusion of young talent, but there is still room to improve.

Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock is in attendance for the IIHF World Championship tournament and is reportedly there as a scout, looking at international talent that could potentially become future Maple Leafs.

TSN insider Darren Dreger caught up with Babcock in Paris and asked him about what he felt the Leafs needed this offseason, and Babcock's wishlist was rather clear. According to Babcock, the most critical need for Toronto right now is a right-handed defenseman who can eat up 25 minutes a night on the ice, not exactly the kind of player that grows on trees.

The Leafs certainly have the pieces to make that a reality, but the question is just how much they will be willing to give up in order to get that right-handed defenseman. Of course what that price might be will likely greatly vary depending on which defenseman they target this summer, although Babcock did not provide any additional details in that regard.
