The Maple Leafs caught an extremely tough break in the first period of Game 4 on Wednesday night.

With Toronto already down 3-1 against the Washington Capitals, defenseman Morgan Rielly  took a huge hit from Tom Wilson that knocked him down to the ice and out of the play. While it initially appeared that it was merely the hit from Wilson that had rocked Rielly, that was in fact not the case.

The replay clearly showed that Rielly was instead the victim of a skate blade to the face one that sliced his lip open with an ugly gash that had to be tended to by the training staff.

To make matters worse the Capitals took advantage of Rielly being down and scored on the play.
