There's nothing like going through your Monday morning grind and finding out that your starter Matt Murray is going to return between the pipes tonight when the Pittsburgh Penguins take on the Colorado Avalanche.
Tristan Jarry has done a fantastic job between the pipes in Murray's absence, going 5-1-2 in that span.
Murray has been out since November 27th with a lower-body injury.
Despite Murray practicing in the starter's net and taking rushes from the first power play unit, Jarry left the ice first, which is typically an indication that he would start. Perhaps Murray just wants to get a bit more time on to shake off some rust.
We'll provide an update when we have confirmation of tonight's starter.
