It looks like the Wings now have a serious problem.

We reported earlier that Detroit Red Wings, Tomas Tatar signed a four-year, $21,2 million deal with an AAV $5,3 million. It looks Detroit agreed to meet the 26-year-old's demands money-wise (Tatar asked for $5,3 million, while the Wings offered $4.1).

Does that mean general manager Ken Holland made a huge mistake? Because according to CapFriendly, it looks like Detroit is now way over the salary cap and they still have to sign Athanasiou and Russo:

Tatar was regardless extremely happy of the deal he signed with the team that drafted him back in 2009, and is already excited for next season:

The 26-year-old winger was Detroit's lone 20-plus goal-scorer: he recorded 25 goals and 21 assists for 46 points in 82 games last season. He was drafted in the second round of the 2009 NHL draft by Detroit. Since then, he played 345 NHL games, in which he amassed 99 goals and 95 assists for 194 points, as well as 112 penalty minutes.
