The Chicago Blackhawks are neck deep in cap problems and they have finally traded a big contract. Former 35-goal scorer Patrick Sharp has been dealt to the Dallas Stars. In return, the Blackhawks get defenseman Trevor Daley and forward Ryan Garbutt.

The Stars also get defenseman Stephen Johns in this trade. Johns was Chicago's seconde round pick back in 2010 and has yet to play a game in the NHL.
