The Vancouver Canucks and Chicago Blackhawks have announced a trade. Canucks General Manager Jim Benning was the first to release an official statement.
The Canucks will receive defenseman Adam Clendening in exhange for Gustav Forsling a n 18 year old defensive prospect from the Swedish Hockey League.
Clendening has spent the majority of his season in the AHL with the Rockford Ice Hogs, however he did collect a goal and an assist in his 4 games with the Blackhawks this season.

Forsling for his part has played 35 games this season for Linkopings HC and has 3 goals and 2 assists over the course of those games.

This move was likely prompted by the injury to Canucks defenceman Kevin Bieksa who will miss considerable time following surgery to repair his injured hand.
