Unexpected move from Marc Bergevin... Really?

If you were in Montreal on Tuesday (or had the chance to be close to the city) you probably saw that Michel Therrien's dismissal was on every network. Firing the Montreal Canadiens head coach might be a bigger event than if it was the prime minister was being impeached. Anyway, the move has been made just before 5 Pm which gave the management team enough times to figure out what say on the press conference held this morning at 11 am ET.

Here's what Marc Bergevin had to say regarding the firing of Michel Therrien and the hiring of Claude Julien.

- "First of all, I have a few words and I will read it not to forget a thing," said Bergevin at the beginning of the press conference.

- "I made the best decisions regarding the Montreal Canadiens organization"

- "I fought alongside Michel and I will do it with Claude, this not making the decision easy"

- "I would like to publicly address my gratitude to Michel Therrien"

- "I'm convinced in hiring Claude Julien we now have on of the best NHL coach"

- "With or without Claude being available, a move needed to be made"
