We may never find out how exactly Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Steve Mason injured himself in last Sunday's game versus the Capitals, as it was one of the weirdest injuries we have seen all year. At least we now know how long Mason will be out. The team announced today that Mason will be out approximately 2-3 weeks with a lower-body injury. The injury occurred during a TV timeout in a very strange sequence. Mason was not even exerting himself before the injury occurred, but it looked very serious. He needed a lot of help getting back to the locker room and looked to be in a considerable amount of pain. Non-contact injuries are always scary, so it's good to know that Mason will be ok in a couple of weeks.
