(Breaking news) "He tried to kill me"

According to TMZ Sports shocking details on the Semyon Varlamov domestic abuse scandal from 2012 have come out in a lawsuit filed by his now ex-girlfriend. Evgeniya Vavrinyuk is claiming that she was the victim of repeated abuse, usually spurred on by drunken rages when Varlamov had consumed too much alcohol. She claims he went into "drunken animal rage" repeatedly kicking her and hitting her even when she lay motionless on the floor.  Vavrinyuk flat out stated "he tried to kill me." She claims the abuse dates back to when the couple lived in Russia where police refused to charge Varlamov due to his celebrity status, "they refused to file any report or press charges due to Varlamov's celebrity hockey player status in Russia." Vavrinyuk is reportedly looking for over 1 million dollars in damages, Varlamov was reached for comment and predictably has given no response.
