A verdict has been reached and Chicago Blackhawks Niklas Hjalmarsson was given a 3 game suspension by the NHL department of player safety. Hjalmarsson was ejected from Saturday nights preseason match for an illegal charging hit to the head against Ty Rattie of the St. Louis Blues. Not only will Hjalmarsson be suspended for the last 2 exhibition games and the first game of the season, he will also have to pay a $22,777.78 fine which goes towards the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
