Breaking: NHL announces suspension for rookie Matthew Tkachuk.

The National Hockey League has come down hard on a rookie for what was a flagrant violation of the NHL's rules.

 According to an official announcement from the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety, Calgary Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk for two games for an elbow to the face of Drew Doughty.

Player safety cited both the "reckless nature" of the decision to deliver such an elbow, as well as the force used by Tkachuk as the reason for their decision to give two games.
