We have a very interesting report to share.
As many long-time hockey fans will know, the Ottawa Senators parted ways with National Hockey League veteran Chris Neil this summer, leaving open the door that Neil would play for a team other than the Senators for the first time in his career.
There were rumors that a number of teams had interest in signing Neil to a professional tryout offer, however Neil was believed to be interested only in signing a contract, not a tryout offer.
Now according to a report from Sportsnet's Hockey Central at Noon, we now know the indentity of one of the teams interested in Neil, and it's one that would only be a few hours drive away from his old home.
It's believed that the Montreal Canadiens have interest in Neil and, while he is obviously in the latter stages of his professional career, I have to say it could be very interesting to see what kind of trouble the notorious agitator could stir up in the Montreal market.
