You don't often get trade rumors coming straight from the mouth of a National Hockey League general manager, however that is exactly what happened on Thursday.

Pittsburgh Penguins general manager Jim Rutherford has openly admitted that there are a number of players he could currently trade for, but it sounds like he may me waiting for a potentially larger trade to develop.

"There's a couple of guys I could acquire right now," Rutherford said as per NHL.com . "I feel like there's another group of guys that could possibly be available here soon. Kind of just waiting to see if that happens. Something could happen in the very near future or this could drag on for a little while."

While Rutherford did not specifically comment on what players he is currently looking at, there are very strong rumors suggesting that Rutherford is currently looking to add a center after the loss of Matt Cullen and Nick Bonino in free agency.

For Rutherford to be so upfront about these potential trades however suggest something may be coming soon.
