With fans having a day off on both sides of the border the National Hockey League had a packed schedule of games on throughout the day, and as a result we got some very interesting developments indeed during those contests.

According to a report from New York Islanders insider Arthur Staples, Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin was spotted in New York on Monday taking in the match up between the Islanders and the St. Louis Blues.

Now obviously the juiciest rumor for the Habs, who are in desperate need of a true number one center, would be the often rumored connection to a trade for Islanders captain John Tavares, however we don't know if Bergevin was there to talk trade in person, or if he was even scouting the Islanders for that matter.

It certainly always raises eyebrows when a rival GM shows up to personally scout an opposing team, but when it's Marc Bergevin who has shown a willingness to make the big deal, and who now has over $7 million in cap space, it garners even more attention that usual.
