Breaking: NHL GMs linked to blockbuster trade rumor spotted meeting face to face!

If you're a fan of the Winnipeg Jets it may be time to start seriously freaking out, and if you're a fan of the Ottawa Senators you may want to stop reading here.

Earlier today we touched on a report from National Hockey League insider Craig Custance that linked the Winnipeg Jets and the Ottawa Senators to a blockbuster trade deal that would see star forward Mark Stone moving to Winnipeg. Here's a snippet from our report earlier today:

This seems to be more than just a rumor at this time as well. [Craig] Custance pointed to some very interesting evidence that would appear to suggest that both these teams have, at the very least, had serious conversations about making this trade a reality. According to Custance both the Senators and the Jets were spotted scouting each other last week, on the same night, in spite of the fact that they were not playing anywhere near one another. Additionally the man who was in Winnipeg was none other than Ottawa Senators general manager Pierre Dorion himself.

From Custance:

But it was noteworthy that Ottawa GM Pierre Dorion was in Winnipeg on Thursday on the same night the Jets had a couple scouts, including assistant GM Larry Simmons, in Detroit where the Senators were playing. There certainly seems to be a fit between a Jets team that has the assets and appetite to make a big move and a Senators team that needs a big return, if they ultimately trade Stone.

Well if that was noteworthy according to Custance than what just happened today is certainly going to be of great interest to fans around the National Hockey League. According to a breaking news report from Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg News, he has personally witnessed Ottawa Senators general manager Pierre Dorion meeting face to face with Winnipeg Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff today. On top of that not only did the meeting happened but it took place at the Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg, the home of the Jets, and the meeting occurred in Cheveldayoff's private suite.

But wait, this gets even crazier. According to McIntyre Jets owner Mark Chipman was also spotted in the building today, yet another indication that a truly major trade may be on the verge of breaking.
