Breaking: NHL hands out HUGE punishment to Hawks’ Kane

NHL Player Safety has announced that Chicago Blackhawks superstar Patrick Kane has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for slashing Anaheim Ducks forward Nick Ritchie.

Kane was clearly provoked by Ritchie and retaliated with a wicked two-handed slash. Ritchie was not injured on the play and both players received slashing minors.
