Head coach is not at all happy.

There is some drama brewing in Chicago and Wednesday night didn't help things one bit.

Once again defenseman Connor Murphy was riding the bench with head coach Joel Quenneville opting to use veteran National Hockey League defenseman Cody Franson instead, and some believe this is now clearly a result of a conflict between Quenneville and Bowman.

It's a poorly kept secret that Quenneville was not happy with the trade that sent Niklas Hjalmarsson to the Arizona Coyotes for Murphy, and some have speculated that Murphy being benched so consistently is Quenneville's attempt to send a message to his general manager.

To make matters worse the Blackhawks suffered a 5-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues on the evening with Blues veteran Jaden Schwartz picking up a hat trick when all was said and done. That only served to further anger the Blackhawks head coach and he made sure to let the media know about it.

"That wasn't very good," said Quenneville. "That was close to brutal as you can get. They played well and we were brutal."

He also single out forward Aterm Anisimov after a bad giveaway led to Blues star Vladimir Tarasenko picking up a goal, in fact when asked about Tarasenko's goal Quenneville called it "Arty's goal."

It's rather clear that not all is well within the Chicago Blackhawks organization.
