On Tuesday NHL commissioner Gary Bettman sent a threatening letter to the Arizona Legislature making in clear that the Coyotes would not remain in Glendale, and that a new arena was required to keep them in Arizona.

Naturally this has led to rampant speculation on the future of the Arizona Coyotes, and the overwhelming majority of both fans and pundits now appear to believe it's only a matter of time before the franchise is finally, and mercifully, moved out of the desert.

Sportsnet insider John Shannon however believes he knows where the team will eventually land, and as one of the most well connected insiders in the business, his words are worth heading.

"I do think one way or the other it is Seattle, but that's my gut," said Shannon as per Sportsnet. "This group was not that far away, not too long ago, about moving to Seattle at one point. They were gonna play at KeyArena until the new building was built, or the building was renovated."

While die hard hockey fans have been clamoring for a return to hockey in Quebec City, a location that already has a state of the art arena ready and waiting, the shift in conferences as well as the weak Canadian Dollar make that an unlikely outcome.
