In one of the craziest stories to hit the hockey world as of late, National Hockey League forward Linden Vey's father, Curtis Vey, has been found guilty of conspiring to kill Linden's mother, Brigitte.

As per CTV Saskatoon, despite the fact the the trial was a dramatic one, the actual case itself was dealt with in short order by the court. This may have been a result of the seemingly damning evidence against Curtis Vey and his co-conspirator Angela Nicholson.

The trial began two weeks ago. The jury heard from Vey’s wife Brigitte, who testified she recorded her husband with an iPod on July 1, 2013. The jury also heard from undercover officers who were in cells with Vey and Nicholson after their arrests.

The Jury needed a little more than a day to reach it's decision, find both parties guilty of planning to murder their respective spouses in grizzly fashion.

The 12-person jury was sequestered Friday morning. On Sunday evening, after nearly 30 hours of deliberations, they found Vey and Nicholson each guilty of two counts of conspiracy to commit murder. The pair planned to kill Vey’s wife, Brigitte Vey, in a house fire and Nicholson’s husband, Jim Taylor, by drugging him.

No word yet on how long they will spend in jail with sentencing due to begin in September.
