Rookie having the worst day of his NHL career.
One National Hockey League rookie is having the worst day of his young NHL career.
According to a report from Colorado Avalanche insider Adrian Dater, 23-year-old Alexander Kerfoot was rushed to a hospital in Sweden on Thursday when a language barrier nearly turned into a major disaster.
Kerfoot woke up on Thursday morning in Sweden, where his team is currently set to play a pair of regular season games against the Ottawa Senators, to find that his Iphone was no longer working. After stopping at a local Apple Store to get it repaired he headed out for a bite to eat, but that's where things turned bad.
Kerfoot has a serious allergy to nuts and after he thought he had explained the problem to his waitress he ordered himself a sandwich, one that contained a pesto sauce made with bits of cashews.

The Avs rookie immediately began feeling his body react to the nuts in his food and immediately went to ask the manager if a mistake had been made. Thankfully the manager spoke fluent English and he quickly put Kerfoot in a Taxi Cab that rushed him to a local hospital.
It sounds like he's going to be alright, but what a terrifying moment it must have been for the young NHL rookie to experience in a foreign country where he does not speak the language.
