Breaking: NHL team cuts 4th overall draft pick
Well… that didn’t go quite as planned!
HockeyFeed
The Edmonton Oilers have announced that they’ve assigned former 4th overall draft pick from the 2016 NHL Entry Draft Jesse Puljujarvi to the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors.
Wow… this is a surprising turn of events. Before the preseason there was a lot of chatter about Puljujarvi playing alongside Connor McDavid on the Oilers first line… now he’s headed to Bakersfield.
In 28 games with the Oilers last season Puljujarvi managed just one goal and eight points. In the AHL however, he was a force putting up 12 goals and 28 points in just 39 games. Look for him to improve on those numbers even more so to start the season before getting a call up from the big club.
