Breaking: NHL organization lands new affiliate team!

The two teams have reached a one-year agreement!

The Arizona Coyotes have officially announced that they have signed a one-year affiliation agreement with the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL.

The decision comes following the announcement that the Rapid City Rush and the Coyotes' would not extend their two-year relationship. In so doing, the Rush jumped on the opportunity to cement an agreement with the Minnesota Wild.  

Arizona Coyotes President of Hockey Operations and General Manager John Chayka had this to say:

"We are excited to partner with the Fort Wayne Komets as our new ECHL affiliate. The Komets are a first class organization with a very passionate fan base. We look forward to a great partnership."

The Komets will be entering their sixth season within the ECHL. The team is play their home games at Allen County War Memorial in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In five years of existence, the organization has made the leagues playoffs on four occasions.
