New York Rangers lock their head coach

New York Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault signed a 5 years contract in 2013 to coach the Rangers until July of 2018. Well it seems that the president Glen Sather and the general manager Jeff Gorton agreed on the fact the Vigneault was their man. Remember that Vigneault's contract was supposed to end in 2018?

"Well, not any longer … or to be more precise, it is now for longer than that, with The Post learning exclusively that the Blueshirts have extended Vigneault’s contract by two years through 2019-20 with a bump on the coach’s annual $2 million income" as you can read in the New York Post.

The management probably took a look at Vigneault's record who pretty much talks for himself. Since he's with the New York Rangers Vigneault’s record is 175-97-23 (.632) which includes a trip to the 2014 Cup final and the 2014-15 Presidents’ Trophy.

Vigneault will certainly take it. As it is know around the league, being an NHL head coach might sometime be an ungrateful job. But not this time.
