Breaking: NHL team sends senior management to scout the Sens game tonight.

The Montreal Canadiens are facing off against the Ottawa Senators this evening and while the contests between the two teams usually have a fairly healthy rivalry given their close geographical proximity to one another, a lot of the eyes tonight will be on the press box.

TSN's Shawn Simpson has just shared some breaking news, revealing that the New York Rangers have sent three members of their senior management group to the game this evening. This has led to rampant speculation about a potential trade involving the Rangers and Senators or the Rangers and the Habs and for good reason.

Since early last week there has been talk of a potential major shake up coming from the Rangers on the trade front, this after the team has come out to a slow start to the 2017-2018 National Hockey League regular season, and tonight's move will only pour gasoline on what was already a very hot fire.

It is highly unusual for a team to send this many members of their senior staff to a rival game in which their team is not playing, and when you consider that Doug Risebrough, assistant general manager Jim Schoenfeld, and former general manager Glen Sather are all among the group of four, it seems highly likely that a trade is the motive.

We don't know who the Rangers are targeting just yet, but we will be monitoring this developing story and bringing you updates as they come.
