Breaking: NHL team signs junior star to contract!
How did he not get signed earlier?!
HockeyFeed
The Columbus Blue Jackets have announced the signing of junior star Maxime Fortier to a three year entry-level contract.
The QMJHL forward somehow went undrafted twice, to most people's surprise, considering his statistics and strong work ethic.
Fortier is currently the captain of the Halifax Moosheads and has led his team in scoring in the previous two seasons. He outscored teammate Nico Hischier last season in Halifax. He did play more games, but it's interesting to see how at only one year older, he was just as productive as 2017's first overall pick.
Here's a little sample of the skill Fortier provides.
Not bad for going undrafted twice. Columbus may have found a steal.
