Breaking: NHL veteran retires after over 500 games in the league.

A National Hockey League veteran has suddenly announced his retirement through the power of social media.

In an official statement former 7th round pick David Moss took the time to thank the college program that he came up in as well as his former NHL teams the Calgary Flames and the Arizona Coyotes with whom he spent the better part of 10 years with. Moss also thanked his wife, his family, his agent and his friends in the very classy statement.

Despite being drafted very late in the 2001 NHL Draft, the right winger had a very solid NHL career by any standards, one that spanned 501 NHL games in which he recorded 78 goals and 100 assists for 178 career points.

His statement did not touch on the next phase of his career, but whatever he chooses to do we wish him all the success in the world.
