Training camp is underway for most National Hockey League franchises at this point and we already have our first signs of drama.

On Friday Minnesota Wild head coach Bruce Boudreau reportedly put his players through a grueling skate, so grueling in fact that it appears to have enraged one of his veteran players.

According to Wild insider Mike Russo of The Athletic, veteran forward Chris Stewart miss the time limit on a skating drill just barely, resulting in him having to do it two extra times, and that seemingly did not sit well with the 29-year-old. According to Russo, Stewart was seen smashing both his stick and a bottle while storming off the ice.

From The Athletic:

Even longtime NHLers have trouble with the test. Veteran Chris Stewart nearly buckled Friday, barely missed the necessary time on his third leg and was punished with two extra. After those two, Stewart stormed off the ice after spiking a water bottle and breaking a stick near the bench.

Boudreau and Stewart have apparently not spoken since the incident, and that conversation won't take place today if Boudreau has his way.

"No, I don’t want to talk to him until tomorrow," said Boudreau.

It will be interesting to monitor what comes of this very public display of defiance from Stewart.
